Me, when the deadline for the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge is approaching but you still have to write the synopsis.
Still waiting for inspiration.
Hoping the words will appear on the screen.
Marveling at how the word “synopsis” looks funny after staring at it for five minutes.
Forcing some words onto the page.
Deleting them because they’re terrible.
Re-typing them because I’m almost out of time.
Grumbling to writing friends about my awful synopsis.
Uploading the story and going the f* to bed.
Waking up in the morning with a perfect synopsis. GAH!

GAH, indeed, coming up with the perfect synopsis the next day. My fear on my political satire synopsis: that no one will “get” that sentence 1 is in the voice of the government, and sentence 2 is one of the grannies (Gayle). After submitting it last night, in the shower, I thought, “no, you should have used just sentence 2….” But if the judges GET it, I figure, “bonus” points….. Good luck. I loved your condor story, and your submitted synopsis worked well, I thought.
