Two, If By Sea
Fiction, 99 words
“John? John, I’m home!”
Sharon shrugged out of her coat and scarf. A flurry of snowflakes swirled to the tile.
She headed for the kitchen in search of her husband, her heels clacking against the hardwood with each step. The sounds echoed down the hall before the stillness of the house swallowed them.
Soft lamplight bathed the room in an eerie glow. The flutter of a paper stuck under the back door drew her attention.
See you on the boat.
Love,
M
The morning paper headline told the story. “Novice Boaters Caught in Squall-Families Mourn.”

Novice Boaters Caught in Squall Boy does that say a lot. Well done.
