I rotate the mug once, twice, then back to its original position. Handle perpendicular to the table edge.
Steep the tea bag. Then again.
The entrance reflects in the mirror along the back wall. Customers sit reading papers, chatting quietly or staring at their own steaming brews.
A figure moves past the stained glass pane.
I sit up straighter. Is it?…
No. Brown hair.
My gaze falls back to my tea.
“Lucas?”
My head snaps up. She stands next to me, blonde ponytail and a nervous smile.
The chair scrapes the floor when I stand. “Regina. Pleased to meet you.”

Dear Sara,
Nicely written prelude to a blind date. You tell us a lot about Lucas in the first line. He sounds organized and a bit persnickety. This left me hoping things would work out for them.
